Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Isaac Kamoko, widely known as Bukom Banku, has announced his retirement from boxing.
The boxer says he is retiring but will pass the torch to his children.
He announced his retirement while speaking in an interview with Okay FM.
“I’ve grown, but my eye is also bothering me, so I don’t want to fight again.” I’ve left everything for three of my children who are boxers. I’ve brought gloves and shoes for them, Abu Kamoko and Mustafa Kamoko. I’ve cleared the way for them to continue.”
According to him, he will be going into comedy and hosting concerts.
“I have stopped boxing, and I’m starting comedy and some shows I do by myself,” he added.
The Ghanaian boxer won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the 1999 African Games in South Africa.
He fought in the United Kingdom against Hungarian Ferenc Albert and defeated him after three rounds in 2019.
He recorded 29 wins in 30 fights. His only loss came against Bastie Samir in October 2017.
