Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Yussif, has said that those who have doubts about the hosting of the 2023 Africa Games should clear all doubts from their minds.
Mustapha Yussif said they are aware people have doubts about the commitment to host the Africa Games because of the delay in the completion of the project, but the games will come off as planned and will not be postponed again.
After inspecting the work done at the Borteyman Sports Complex together with Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Sports Minister said the facility will be completed in December.
“The job is done, and all the contractors will hand over the facilities in December (2023), and what we will be doing after that is testing the various facilities that have been completed.”
“This is not happening that we are telling you, but you have seen it yourself, and that is why we brought you here today. Those who have doubts should clear the doubts from their minds because the games will be hosted live.”
“We want the support of everyone. We want all 33 million Ghanaians to support the government and the Ministry of Sports so that we can welcome the whole of Africa into this country,” the Sports Minister said, as aired on Rainbow Radio Accra.
