Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has claimed that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government has created more jobs than any other regime in the history of Ghana.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia claimed that they have created over 2.1 million jobs since taking over the presidency in 2017, which is the most created by any government in history.
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, who doubles as the NPP 2024 presidential candidate, made this comment while speaking at the launch of the Business and Employment Assistance programme of the Youth Employment Agency on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani.
“This programme (the Business and Employment Assistance Programme) is a testament to our government’s focus on job creation. Unemployment was a real problem, and we even had the unemployment graduate association. Our focus, therefore, was to improve job creation through the public and private sectors,” he said.
“So far, we have created in the private and public sectors 2.1 million jobs: 975 in the private sector and 1.2 million in the public sector. The data is there, and this cannot be disputed.”
“I can say with all humility that no government in the history of the 4th Republic has done this (created 1.2 million jobs), and this cannot be challenged. It is a hard fact,” Dr. Bawumia added, as aired on Rainbow Radio Accra.
