Aggrieved supporters of Alhaji Nuhu Zaruk, an aspiring parliamentary candidate in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Bimbilla constituency, have vandalised the party office.
They destroyed some properties belonging to the party when they stormed the office to express their anger against the party.
According to them, the name of the aspirant has been removed from the list containing the names of persons to be vetted.
The angry supporters stormed the
constituency office on Tuesday evening, January 2, 2023, demanding answers as to why the name of Alhaji Zaruk’s name has been removed.
The youth are threatening to burn down the party office if the name is not restored.
They burned tyres and pelted stones at the office.
It took the intervention of the military to disperse the angry supporters.
Meanwhile, the vetting of the parliamentary aspirants is scheduled to start today, January 3–5, 2024.
