A group calling itself Ghana Needs Kennedy Agyapong for President has urged Ken Ohene Agyapong to run for president as an independent candidate in the 2024 election.
The group claims that Kennedy Agyapong is the only one who can save the country from this crisis.
Mr. Kwadwo Asare Baffour, the group’s Public Relations Officer, stated at a news conference that Kennedy Agyapong, who is also the Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, has a track record that no other MP can match, and that he can deliver on the people’s expectations.
He asserted that Kennedy Agyapong has produced a lot of work opportunities for the country’s youth.
He stated that, while the NPP delegates endorsed Kennedy Agyapong as a presidential candidate and president, Ghanaians prefer him.
“If you look at the NPP’s presidential primary, they rejected him as president. But if the NPP does not want him, Ghanaians want him. He is a common MP, but he has accomplished a lot. He has done a lot for his people. We want to inform him that even if the NPP does not want him as president, Ghanaians do, and we want him to run as an independent candidate.
He is a man of character. He has proven to be competent, capable, and, most importantly, a man of discipline. He is a pitiful citizen who is honest and reliable. He is not a thief and will not steal from public funds. In the current situation, the country requires a man who is not corrupt. We no longer care about political politics. We require a credible leader who is ready to transform the country.”
He went on to say, “We need a man with a vision who is not selfish.” We require a president to implement measures to restore and preserve economic discipline. Nobody can compare to Kennedy Agyapong, which is why we want him to be president.”
