The Gambia national football team has survived a near-planned crash disaster while travelling to Ivory Coast for the 2023 African Cup of Nations tournament.
The Scorpions left their capital city on board for Ivory but nearly had an accident on the plane after the oxygen in their flight failed, which forever caused the plane to return to Gambia.
Some of the Gambian new portals have reported that the incident happened because the plane was too small to carry the number of people on board at the same time.
Gambian journalist Sane Malang reported that some of the players fainted due to the oxygen failure on the plane.
He also reported that the team is now in Ivory Coast after the host nation sent Air Ivoir to transport the delegation to Yamoussoukro, where Gambia will play their first game in the AFCON.
