YAFO Institute Annual Report Showcases “Fighting for Freedom”

The YAFO Institute today, January 15, 2024, released its 2023 Annual Report, which highlights its efforts to advance civil liberty, free enterprise, and prosperity in Ghana.
 
The report signifies the NGO’s determination to make individuals realise their freedom and defend it.
 
The report features the NGO’s progress, barriers overcome, and greater works that need to be done.
 
The report details a dynamic year of development and production, research, and events of the highest calibre.
 
The focus of the institute is essential to the battle of ideas within the policy space of Ghana.

The theme for the 2023 report is “Fighting for Freedom in Ghana.” The daring team at YAFO Institute has done marvellous work in the year under review, undertaking policy actions for change in Ghana.

The report shows its impact through a series of policy conversations that centre on addressing the galamsey, cutting taxes, leading with a perspective supported by research-backed evidence, and analyzing and examining vehicle insurance.
 
Through creative public policy advocacy, we have significantly contributed to lowering the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy), enabled businesses to offer market-responsive vehicle insurance, decreased police harassment regarding auto insurance, shifted media discourse to address galamsey using a scientific approach, advanced youth-focused emerging technology opportunities, and successfully pushed Ghana to remove the import restriction bill.

The President of YAFO Institute, Nathaniel Dwamena, describes the 2023 Annual Report as “a record of our progress, the hurdles we’ve conquered, and the work that still has to be done. It’s an appeal for solidarity, a reminder that we must never give up fighting for the liberties that make us human.”.
