Sulemana Kuli, a teacher at Vitin Senior High Technical School in Tamale, is in hot water for assaulting a student over the weekend and leaving the student in a critical condition.
The community members in Tamale are up against the school’s decision to produce the teacher to face the law.
Despite the Ghana Education Service directive to prevent teachers from executing corporal punishment in basic and senior high schools, Suleimana went against the directive and inflicted severe wounds and pain on the innocent student without giving a reason for the brutality.
The student is currently battling for his life at the Tamale Teaching Hospital after the school initially let him go unattended.
There have been several calls on the GES in the northern region to take up the issue and produce the teacher to the Ghana Police Service before the close of work today.
The story is still unfolding, and we will update you as soon as there is an update.
