Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has declared his vote for the 2024 general elections for sale.
He has thus requested that politicians who want him to vote for them or campaign for them engage him in discussions about the amount involved.
The musician opined that political leaders have over the years taken Ghanaians for granted and failed to deliver on their campaign promises.
To him, these political leaders only come into office to steal from the state.
Describing Ghanaian politicians as thieves, Kwaw Kese said political leaders enter government to accumulate fortune for themselves, their families, cronies, and friends, so it was high time citizens sold their ballots.
Appearing on the Midmorning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Kwaw Kese stated that when campaigning, politicians give all manner of promises but fail to deliver on them.
He could not also understand why, in this modern world, we will still have schools under trees, poor water conditions, and terrible roads across the country.
He believes that when political leaders dedicate themselves to discharging their duties without stealing from us, then the country will transform.
“If you want me to vote for you so you can get elected and get money, you must pay for it. Politicians steal a lot of money when in power. I support those who accept money from politicians before casting their votes. Our roads are horrible, there are more schools under trees, and the energy problem is destroying our lives. They either pay for the votes or do not vote for them.
We have a water crisis, so why are you voting for them? You are a fool if you continue to vote for these politicians without benefiting from them. Sell your vote or do not vote. If we don’t vote for them, they will not get power and steal from us. If these folks aren’t doing anything for us, there’s no reason to vote for them, he said.
He also advised Ghanaian voters to sell their votes rather than giving them away for free.
“When you vote for someone, you have offered them a job; however, when they are paid, will they pay you a portion of their salary? You vote for someone, and that person gets to spend our billions while you are hungry and struggling financially. The country’s road networks are in terrible condition. You elected for someone to lead, yet they did nothing. You paid for electricity with your hard-earned money, and now there is a power outage. What is the essence of voting? Why worry and vote when these challenges still persist?
They profit from your votes, and your votes create millionaires. People come to you to wash your panties when an election is approaching, but once they have power, they squander our money and disregard you. So please sell your vote. If you can’t sell your vote, don’t vote at all.
