Ghanaian dance duo Afronita and Abigail placed third at the finale of the 2024 Britain’s Got Talent show.
It was the expectation of Ghanaians, both home and abroad, for them to win the highly contested finale.
However, they emerged third through their electrifying performance.
The two were clad in bright Ghanaian colours, coming up in the top three out of the ten finalists.
The 10 finalists included a choir, a magician, and a Japanese skipping group.
Singer Sydnie Christmas was declared the winner of the finale after toppling the other finalists.
After she was declared the winner, she said: “I don’t know what to say, I cannot believe the amount of love that I’ve felt.
“I am overwhelmed with love, and it’s the most amazing thing, and I wish every person in this room feels the way I do with this love, it’s amazing, thank you so much.
Magician Jack Rhodes came in second, and dancers Abigail and Afronita grabbed the third position.
The winner of the 17th series of BGT receives a cash prize of £250,000 and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
