The Asokore Mampong District Court has granted actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, GH¢50,000 in bail with two sureties.
This was after he was arraigned before the court today, Monday, June 3, 2024, following his arrest.
The actor and musician was arrested after he was discharged from the hospital Monday morning.
He was arrested by officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Manhyia Divisional Command in connection with the accident that led to the death of a three-year-old boy.
He was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Lil Win has been charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm.
The prosecution told the court that the incident was still under investigation; hence, they would need the actor to avail himself whenever he was needed.
The lawyer for the actor, Margaret Adjei-Twum, prayed to the court to grant his client bail because he had suffered injuries, including internal bleeding, and should be granted bail to go through treatment.
She said her client was a popular person in the country and would not escape from the court as the case proceeds.
She also said they were forced to go to court by the police, although her client has not fully recovered.
The case has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.
