Abena Osei-Asare, Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern Region, has urged Ghanaians to vote against any political party associated with hooligans in the upcoming December 7 elections.
The lawmaker, who is also a Deputy Finance Minister, charged voters to give the nod to the peaceful-oriented political party that can govern the country well.
She stated that peace is essential for nation-building since a country cannot flourish while hooliganism exists.
“Peace is a very expensive commodity that no one can purchase; that’s why we must protect ours and vote against those political parties that will come and trample on the peace bestowed on us,” Madame Osei-Asare remarked.
She addressed this in Anyinam when she presented the drivers with ten brand new registered work and pay vehicles, nine taxes, and one little pick-up, while also distributing free mechanical toolboxes to fifteen mechanic masters to use in training their apprentices.
The initiative is under her OBAATAPA EMPOWERMENT SCHEME, which seeks to create job opportunities for the youth in the area.
“The New Patriotic Party is the only political party that stands for peace and development; that is why Ghanaians need to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, their flagbearer, to come and continue the good works of President Akufo Addo to help the country enjoy the peace God has gifted us,” she said.
“On December 7, go out and cast your vote; if there is any chaos at the polling centres, don’t get yourself involved; just handle the troublemaker to the police and go home to avoid any unforeseen tragedy that will distract the peace of this country,” she told the voters.
Abena Osei-Asare expressed concern over the recent stabbing of her colleague’s son in Kasoa during the voter transfer exercise. She urged Ghanaians to reject any political party that promotes violence and hooliganism and maintain the New Patriotic Party in power in the December 7 polls to maintain peace in the country.
Albert Nuamah, the New Patriotic Party’s Chairman for the Atiwa East Constituency, stated that the well-being of Atiwa East is very important to Abena Osei-Asare, indicating that the steps she has taken will have a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries as well as create job opportunities for them, lowering the area’s unemployment rate.
“Since Abena Osei-Asare became the Atiwa East Member of Parliament, she has done a lot for the constituents, and it is about time we also show her love by voting massively for her come the 2024 general to be able to do more infrastructure projects to transform Atiwa East,” he stated.
