Yaw Acheampong, the Aduana Stars’ head coach, has encouraged Ghanaians to give Jordan Ayew a chance and quit criticising him unfairly.
Contrary to unfavourable criticism of the player, the coach stated that Jordan Ayew has proved over time that he had the qualities required to join the national team.
Speaking on Rainbow Sports, he opined that the qualities of the player have been evident from the club level to the national team.
“We are all aware of the qualities that the player has possessed since the beginning. Even at the club level, he has been consistent so far. We also understand that when things go tough, Jordan Ayew can make a difference for the team or work some magic for us.”
He urged Ghanaians not to harshly condemn him, but rather to support him “because when the opportunity arises, he will score for the national team.” So we had to give him that space to build something, and I was pleased that he did so when we played against the Central African Republic.”
He also commended the technical team and the playing body for the victory against CAR.
He entrusted them with being focused and ensuring that they qualify for the World Cup, whatever of the hurdles they may face.
