Gospel musician Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle popularly known as Joe Mettle, has announced his decision to take a year off from the music scene.
The Ghanaian gospel musician and songwriter said for the past 15 years he’s been an active musician and was about to take a break.
He disclosed this to Sokoohemaa Kukua on the Midmorning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
He was asked if he gets the opportunity to socialise with friends and relatives, and in his response, the musician said he tries to socialise.
“This is a very important question you’ve asked.
It is extremely difficult to socialise, but when the chance or opportunity comes, I do socialize. It gets busy at certain seasons, and at other seasons it becomes calmer. So when it is calmer, you make sure all the other sides that you’ve not made time for, you do.”
According to him, he used to socialise a lot with friends, but he hasn’t done that in a while.
“I have not done that in a while. But I used to do that, and I still do. The thing is, most of the friends that I have are mostly busy. But we try to socialize. Once in a while, we meet up and socialise.”
When asked if he had lost an aspect of his social life, he responded, “Yes, you will lose some aspect of your social life. But in the job, there is some social life outside the ministry. It is not always about music and prayer. But sometimes we sit and talk and eat.”.
He then disclosed to the host that he would soon take a year’s break from music..
“One of these days, perhaps I’ll take a year. People don’t believe me when I say this, but one of these days, I’ll probably take a year off. I haven’t had a proper break in 15 years. It’s been back to back, so one of these days I’ll take a year off.”
