Trobu: NPP’s candidate is not qualified to be elected as the next MP – PC of NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Trobu constituency parliamentary candidate, Dr. John Kofi Halm, claims that the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Gloria Owusu, is unqualified to be elected as the constituency’s next Member of Parliament.

The medical professional stated that he is better qualified, knowledgeable, and ready to assist the constituency in its transformation.

Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Dr. Halm said he has several initiatives he intends to roll out as the next MP to assist his constituents in reaching their full potential.

He told host Kwabena Agyapong that his campaign has proven that he is the most popular candidate that the constituents want to vote for.

He also underscored the need for other candidates to desist from engaging in tribal politics and focus on policies and initiatives that will transform the constituency.

“I do not believe Trobu should experience tribal politics. What we need is someone who is prepared and qualified to transform the constituency. We don’t need candidates who will campaign on tribal lines. If that is the way to go, then I don’t think it will help us develop. I don’t also think that the other candidate is qualified enough to represent the people and be truthful or trustworthy.

For the dynamics within the constituency, I think I have come to understand their ways of life and their ways of speaking. It is always about sincerity, and I am the most qualified one. I am not going to parliament for my personal gain. I am a responsible man. I have served in the military before. I am not an ordinary person. I was in the military for over seven years until I left, went to study medicine, and returned to Ghana. It has been over 25 years since I left the military. Politics is now a profession for people, but that is not me. I am a professionally trained medical doctor. My wife is also a medical doctor. We have our two clinics and are transforming lives in the community through our NGO.”

He also promised to be a different politician who thrives on the truth; he is also a God-fearing personality and prepared to support his constituents by representing them in parliament.

He said since 2012, the constituency has not seen any progress despite having an NPP.

He added that he was far more visible than the NPP’s candidate since he had embarked on house-to-house campaign activities.
