Ghanaian gospel artiste Scott Evans has revealed that he is not a lukewarm Christian who preaches virtue but also engages in vice.
The musician asserts that he has maintained discipline, humility, and discipleship due to his unwavering dedication to the teachings of God.
According to him, one cannot preach the word of God and encourage others to live pure lives while still engaging in sinful behaviour.
Scott Evans, speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Midmorning show, said that being an evangelist and gaining lives for the kingdom had kept him closer to God.
“I had friends who did drugs and alcohol, but I think my inspiration is the grace of God. I did not go wayward because I was able to understand the scriptures. As the Bible says, I got trained, I got disciplined, and I got discipled. I started evnagelism. I was evangelising with my friends. I cannot preach the word of God and do otherwise. I think that is what helped me find balance in my life.”
The artiste stated that there is luxury in the creative space, but how to acquire it has become a challenge for several artistes.
He defined himself as a patient man whose music shapes and transforms people’s lives.
Scott Evans said that he wants to be remembered as one of the musicians who stood his ground for Afro-Gospel.
