A private legal practitioner, Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, has won the Manhyia South Parliamentary Primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He polled 376 votes out of the total votes cast to defeat almost all the other contenders.
Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, the brother of incumbent MP Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, polled 141 votes.
The other candidates, James Owusu and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi, garnered two votes each.
The NPP organised the primary after the incumbent MP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was selected as the running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
