Charlotte Osei, the former Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission, has spoken out about some of the issues she faced while in office.
The first female EC Chair, speaking on an upcoming episode of Joy News’ Personality Profile, claimed she got threats from multiple sources throughout her tenure as Chair.
She revealed that the threats were frequently conveyed via mail, and she had to notify security services about her ordeal.
“There were threats through my emails, and sometimes the security agencies would notify me of receiving threats and warn me to be careful,” she recounted.
She added that the situation was very difficult on her family, who were under a lot of emotional stress.
She also stated that her children were abused at school, and that the family was subjected to hatred towards her throughout her service.
