Former National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has described the John and Jane ticket as the competent pair required to transform this country and restore economic stability.
Addressing NDC supporters in Tema East constituency as part of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s campaign tour, he said the two are exceptional leaders who will reset the country and restore hope.
He said former President John Dramani Mahama selected the former education minister as his running mate because she is not only competent but also selfless, incorruptible, and dedicated.
Mr. Ampofo touted the performance of the running mate, saying she was one of Ghana’s finest education ministers.
‘’That is why our incoming president, former President John Dramani Mahama, selected her as his running mate. He knew her level of competence and the value she added to the ticket. Mahama is also aware that, with Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate, the ticket is the best ticket that can secure the future of this country. It is the best ticket that can provide relief in this perilous economic environment we find ourselves in,’’ he said.
The running mate, on her part, encouraged members of the party to participate fully in the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.
She said the exercise was crucial since it would allow them to verify their details and secure their place to vote in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
She added that change was necessary considering the mess the ruling NPP government has caused this country.
The 2024 general elections will offer us an opportunity for change, and that change cannot happen if we fail to verify our names and vote.
