Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service is set to start full operation in Ghana by the end of August 2024.

This comes after the National Communications Authority (NCA) completed all necessary administrative and licensing procedures.

This was contained in a statement issued by the NCA today, August 22, 2024.

With the final approval granted, Starlink is set to roll out its high-speed internet services across the nation.

The NCA announced in the statement that the service will be managed by Space X Starlink GH LTD, a branch of Musk’s SpaceX.

Starlink’s technology relies on a constellation of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, which enable faster internet speeds compared to traditional satellites, positioning Starlink as a strong competitor in the global internet market.

The Starlink network is designed, owned, and operated by SpaceX, the world’s leading provider of launch services.

SpaceX is proud to be the first private company to have delivered astronauts to and from the International Space Station and the first and only company to complete an all-civilian crew mission to orbit.

The company says it is deeply committed to maintaining a safe orbital environment, protecting human spaceflight, and ensuring the environment is kept sustainable for future missions to Earth orbit and beyond.
