A private legal practitioner who doubles as parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Weija Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed, has organised an event dubbed ‘Jerry Fest’.

The initiative was to interact with his constituents, especially children.

Held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, the event saw the aspiring legislator feed 12, 000 children who participated in the event.

He was of the view that the children were the future of the constituency, and it was important to organise this event for them to know about their challenges.

The lawyer was hopeful that he would win the elections and get the opportunity to roll out initiatives that would help enhance the lives of his people, particularly the children.

He has therefore admonished the residents to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president.

He noted that with Dr. Bawumia as president and him as the next MP, he will be able to lobby for projects into the constituency that will help transform lives.

The lawyer praised President Akufo-Addo for his exceptional performance despite the challenges and hardships faced by Ghanaians.

He said the constituency has had its fair share of the national cake, including rodas, an interchange, and a hospital facility that is set for commissioning in September.

Mr. Jerry Ahmed said the NPP had been better managers of the economy even in the face of the economic crisis, which is a global challenge and not only limited to Ghana.

He said Dr. Bawumia, as Vice President, is not the final authority and that power rests with the president, and so he cannot be expected to take decisions.

“We are far better managers. As we speak, our lights are on. People have their basic necessities of life. Whatever it is, it is better to upgrade than to reset.”

His prayer was for Ghanaians to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia because he was more competent, dedicated, and a man of integrity who will put the country and the people first if elected as the next president.

He added that the promises and policies introduced by Dr. Bawumia were superior to those of former President John Dramani.

“Bawumia and Mahama are not the same. The value cannot be the same. One had been president before, and we saw Dumsor. The other had never been a president, and he is a man with integrity.”
