The United Front Party (UFP) has declared its support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 presidential election.
The leadership of the party said it has taken time to examine the policies of the two major political parties and have concluded that those of the NPP and Dr. Bawumia align with the UFP.
The leader of the party, Nana Agyenim Boateng, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, indicated that they see Dr. Bawumia as a better alternative to manage the country.
The politician informed the media that they had come at the final decision after extensive discussion and review of the manifestos of the major political parties.
‘’Leadership of the United Front Party has taken time to study the various manifestos, policy statements, visions, and development agendas of all the major political parties. After weeks of intensive deliberations, we have finally wished to declare the vision and development plan for this country as presented by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP are in alignment with ours.’’
He indicated the party has also examined Dr. Bawumia’s personal values and can now affirm that his presidency will yield both economic prosperity and discipline to our dear nation of Ghana.
‘’We have gone around the country and are now witnesses to the massive development of infrastructure and positive impact on our lives as a result of social intervention delivered during the past eight years of the Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia government. The country will benefit immensely from the continuation of these policies and initiatives. Consequently, we have decided to step down our ambition and rather assist Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP to win the next general elections,’’ he added.
