The Electoral Commission (EC) has approved 13 candidates after filing nomination forms by political parties to contest the 2024 presidential candidate.
A statement issued by the EC said after the filing of all the nominations, the 13 candidates from both political parties and independent candidates conformed to the requirements as set out by the electoral body.
The 13 persons who qualified to contest are Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); former President John Dramani Mahama, National Democratic Congress; Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, Movement for Change; Christian Kwabena Andrews of the Ghana Union Movement; Daniel Augustus Lartey Junior of the Great Consolidated Popular Party; and Nana Kwame Bediako, aka Cheddar.
The rest are Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party; Hassan Ayariga, All People’s Congress; Kofi Akpaloo, Liberal Party; Mohammed Frimpong of the National Democratic Party (NDP); National Akosua Frimpomaa of the Convention People’s Party; and Kofi Koranteng, an independent candidate.
