Deputy Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril, says the Number 8 position of the presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama is not going to be a challenge for the party as speculated by some individuals.
He posited that no matter the ballot position of the NDC and the candidate, Ghanaians have made up their minds to vote massively for the former president because they see him as the only competent person to manage the country.
He said the former president is not a liar, corrupt, incompetent, and does not have a running mate who will mock God just to score political points.
Mr. Jibril stated that Mr. Mahama has served Ghana in the past, and his leadership qualities were unmatched, and his record and legacy have proven to Ghanaians that the NPP is a mess.
‘’The position of Mahama is not a challenge because he is not a liar, he is a man of integrity, he is not corrupt, and he is a former president who served his country with diligence, dedication, commitment, and a solid track record. The NPP after eight years is comparing their eight years to Mahama’s four years, but still they are not able to match. John Mahama qualifies to contest the election, and God has proven him right that this government is a mess and has destroyed the economy and worsened the living conditions of the people.
The country has gone through eight years of corruption under Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. Eight years of galamsey under Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. We have seen eight years of a bad educational system under Nana Addo and Bawumia. This is the poor record of this NPP government, and so the position of Mahama is not a problem for us. It is a blessing, and it shows we have a candidate who does not lie. Ghanaians will vote for him come December 7, 2024,’’ he added.
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said, ‘’Former President John Dramani is our redeemer, and it does not matter his position on the ballot paper. He will certainly win the 2024 presidential election. That is the most important thing’’.
