The leadership of the Cocoa Carriers Association has declared an indefinite sit-down strike starting Monday, October 7, 2024, over issues related to their conditions of service.
The leadership had therefore instructed their members to comply with the strike action.
Members at the Tema, Takoradi, and Kumasi depots of the Cocoa Marketing Company Limited are to stay away from work.
The National Chairman of the Cocoa Carriers Association, Raymond Atanga Abobiga, said in a media interview they will remain on strike until all their demands are met.
He said they would report to work but will not engage in any form of activity.
“We are going to report to work but will be at the gate of the various warehouses, and then we are not going to work until they attend to our needs and our demands.
“I want the management of COCBOD and our directors to know that we are not against an individual and that we are fighting a just cause,” he stated.
