Emerging artist Kofi Mickey has declared his ambition to make a profound impact globally.
He emphasized that music is a serious profession, requiring dedication and hard work, during an appearance on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s midmorning show.
Kofi Mickey, who identifies as an Afro-Pop and Hip-Pop artist, noted that success in the industry demands more than just talent.
His music draws inspiration from everyday life experiences. With a strong management team behind him, he aims to extend his reach beyond Ghana’s borders.
Notably, Kofi Mickey writes his own songs.
Originally known as Ofosu Michael, he began his musical journey in technical school and transitioned to commercial music after completing his education.
Citing Kwami Eugene and Asaka Boys as influences, Kofi Mickey has released five tracks: ‘In the Club’, ‘Don’t Take Me for Fooling’, ‘Abena’, ‘Annabella’, and ‘Good Heart’, a freestyle.
He told host Sokoohemaa Kukua that “the industry is highly competitive, and breaking through requires more than a musician’s talent.” My music is influenced by everyday life stories from our culture. I want to take his craft beyond Ghana’s borders, and with management backing me up, I am confident that my music will have a great impact.”
