Second lady, Samira Bawumia, has appealed to the Zongo communities in the Ashanti Region to vote massively for her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
She said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) had always painted a negative picture about the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its hate towards Zongo communities.
But the Second Lady disputed this narrative, stressing that the NPP does not hate Zongo communities.
She has therefore appealed to them to vote for her husband in the upcoming December 7 presidential election.
Speaking at a gathering in Abofour Zongo in the Offinso South Constituency of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday (8 October), the Second Lady called on the Zongo communities to trust her husband.
“And now Dr. Bawumia is leading us because the party believes in his vision for a better Ghana. The NPP has been firm in its support for us, and the Christian community is voting for him. “It is time for Zongos to reciprocate this love by voting massively for him,” she stated.
“[Our women], Dr. Bawumia has wonderful news for you. He intends to create the Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund to make financial resources more accessible to female entrepreneurs, particularly those operating small to medium-sized businesses. We understand the important role that women play in our household, and he is ready to take action.”
“The digitisation initiative will continue under Bawumia’s leadership. The “Free SHS” policy will benefit beneficiaries, and the digital training program will produce over one million digital jobs,” she noted.
