Ghana lost the return leg to Sudan on Tuesday, October 15.
The Black Stars were defeated 2-0 by the Falcons of Jediane in Libya on matchday four of the qualifying series.
Ghana’s defeat implies they will require favorable results from other matches and must secure victories in their November international break games against Niger and Angola.
Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud opened the scoring for Jediane’s Falcons in the 62nd minute, following a failed clearance in the Ghanaian box that resulted in confusion.
The forward made it 1-0 by tapping into an empty net after Gideon Mensah cleared the ball off the line.
Three minutes later, the home team doubled its lead.
Mohamed Abdelrahman scored the second goal for Sudan.
