Joyce Bawah Mogtari, campaign spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama, has described President Akufo-Addo as a desperate man running from accountability, which is why he is campaigning for his Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be elected president.
She believes President Akufo-Addo is attempting to avoid accountability by running for a third term through Dr. Bawumia.
She made the remarks in a Facebook post on October 30, 2024, claiming that the President is attempting to avoid accountability for his administration’s actions, indicating a reluctance to face scrutiny for his government’s policy and decisions.
Madam Mogtari, argues that the President’s aggressive campaigning is designed to distance himself from criticism and ensure continuity of his party’s rule via Bawumia.
This move, she believes, is driven by Akufo-Addo’s desire to escape accountability for his administration’s governance challenges, including economic difficulties.
By backing Bawumia, Akufo-Addo seeks to preserve his policy legacy and avoid repercussions from a potential change in leadership.
“Obviously Akufo Addo desperately needs a third term, and it is obvious his side guy no dey fit campaign or answer the questions, abi you know, so Orga take the steer back,” she posted.
