28-year-old drug store operator arrested for sleeping in coffin at Foase cemetery

Residents of Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have been thrown into a state of shock and utter disbelief following the arrest of a 28-year-old drug store operator who was allegedly caught sleeping in a coffin for three days in a suspected money ritual.

The suspect, identified only as Foster, was apprehended at the community’s cemetery on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after a local hunter stumbled upon the unburied coffin in an open section of the burial ground.

Narrating the chilling incident to the media, some residents revealed that the hunter grew suspicious when he noticed the coffin sitting exposed on the surface instead of being interred. His hunting dogs immediately ran towards the casket, prompting him to take aim with his gun and threaten to fire into the wooden box. To his utter astonishment, Foster climbed out of the coffin unharmed.

The police have since taken custody of Foster to assist with ongoing investigations into the alleged ritual attempt, while anxiety continues to linger across the Foase enclave over the disturbing spectacle.
