The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to introduce bold business-friendly policies that the youth desire if elected as president.
The Vice President pledged that if elected as President on December 7, he would introduce ”bold, business-friendly policies.”
Speaking at a meeting with a section of Ghanaian youth at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra on November 3, 2024, he said, ”I will introduce initiatives that will create a large pool of jobs that the youth desire and deserve.”.
He also promised to “protect the public purse if given the opportunity to serve Ghana as President from January 7, 2025.”
To the youth who have decided not to vote on grounds that all politicians were all the same and incompetent, he disagreed and advised them to vote massively for him because he was different from his main contender, former President John Dramani Mahama.
“December is about you. December is about your future. Make an informed choice between the one who has been rejected in the past and myself. Don’t bring back the one who was discarded in the past,” he urged.
He said, “We are all not the same and cannot be the same. I am not John Dramani Mahama. He is a former president and former vice president. I am a Vice President and not a President who has never been President before and am asking you for the opportunity to lead and show what I can do if offered the opportunity this December.
You can trust me to protect the public purse and use it selflessly to serve you. To the young voters of Ghana, I will say to you, do not switch off. I ask you to get involved. December is about you. December is about who can deliver for you for your future, whom you trust. Who has the integrity, the vision, the energy, the competence, and the sense of where the world is today and your place in it? Who has the humility to serve you and the decency not to insult you.”
