Multiple award-winning Ghanaian disc jockey DJ Pho has been adjudged the ‘Event DJ’ of the year.
The ‘Presidential DJ’ grabbed the award at the 2024 edition Guiness Ghana DJ Awards held on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
The creative young DJ was nominated in two (2) categories of the 2024 Guiness Ghana DJ Awards.
He was nominated in the ‘Event DJ of the Year’ and ‘Mobile DJ of the Year’
He faced competition with the likes of DJ Lord OTB, DJ Toyor, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Ikon, DJ Loft, DJ Sam, AD DJ, and DJ Juicy.
But toppled all of them to be crowned as the ‘Event DJ’ at the ceremony.
Real name Kwaku Afriyie Asante Boateng, DJ Pho first won the ‘Mobile FJ of the Year’ award at the 2014 ceremony.
Speaking to Rainbowradioonline.com, DJ PHO expressed gratitude to the organisers and Ghanaians for the support he has received over the years.
The award he posited was not just for celebration but a testament to his creativity, dedication, and hard work.
He said it would also encourage him to be much better at what he does.
He also commended the other nominees in the category, stating that being nominated is even an affirmation that they were good at what they do.
DJ Pho, who hosts the ‘Total Request Live’, ‘Club 87’, ‘Listener’s Choice’, and ‘Vibes On Vibes’ shows on Accra-based Rainbow Radio, is optimistic about winning in these two (2) categories.
