New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has refuted allegations of tolerating Fulani herdsmen’s farmland destruction under his presidency.
He has described them as NDC propaganda adding that the opposition seeks to spread unfounded fears about his connection to the Fulbe people through marriage, implying leniency towards lawlessness.
Campaigning in Ejura Sekyedumase on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Dr. Bawumia pledged equal application of Ghana’s laws to all citizens, irrespective of background.
“The NDC is now spreading propaganda that my reign will allow Fulanis to destroy farmlands, but this will never happen; it is all propaganda; we will never allow it to happen.
“The law will deal with everybody. So please do not believe the propaganda that we will allow the Fulani to destroy your farmlands.
“If caught, they will be arrested. We are bringing beneficial development to the town. Give me power, and you will testify to it.”
