On Thursday, November 14, the President of the French Republic conferred the prestigious title of Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
This distinguished honour was bestowed during an official state visit to France.
The award recognises President Akufo-Addo’s exceptional contributions to diplomacy, democratic governance, and international cooperation.
The Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur is one of the highest ranks in France’s Légion d’Honneur, which Napoleon Bonaparte established in 1802 as a merit order.
This prestigious award is reserved for individuals who have rendered exceptional service to France and the wider global community in fields ranging from public service and international diplomacy to the arts, science, and humanitarian work.
