President Akufo-Addo has commissioned the new Bank of Ghana headquarters.
The office was commissioned on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
He commended the Bank of Ghana for its commitment to innovation and efficiency and the investment made in constructing the new headquarters.
“This new headquarters will serve as the new command centre for the bank’s operations. Fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in its service to the nation.
“It will also reinforce the bank’s capacity for advance critical financial sector reforms, enhance regulatory frameworks, and improve the investment climate for both domestic and international stakeholders,” he stated.

On his part, the Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Ernest Addison, stated that the new headquarters will enhance the bank’s operational efficiency.
He explained that the primary objective of the new headquarters is to streamline the bank’s activities by consolidating its multiple offices scattered across Accra under one roof.
The move he noted was crucial to the bank since it would help foster better coordination, communication, and cost-effectiveness in the bank’s operations.
“As you may be aware, the Bank of Ghana has multiple offices in the city of Accra and with a strategic plan to harmonise all these operational units at the headquarters under one roof. This new head office provides us with the opportunity to better streamline our operations, improve communication, reduce cost, and create the needed synergies for efficiency.
“The Bank Square was designed with the future in mind and stands as one of the most important modern civic landmarks in the city of Accra and, for that matter, our nation. This building will play a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s identity as a leading force in Africa’s financial ecosystem.”
