John Dramani Mahama, Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), characterised the 2024 general elections as distinctly unique compared to any elections held since 1992.
During his campaign tour in Achiase, Eastern Region, on Tuesday, November 19, Mahama underscored the significance of learning from the past eight years under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
He pointed out that President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s government made numerous unfulfilled promises in 2016, resulting in widespread economic hardship.
Mahama attributed the prevailing economic challenges, including escalating hunger and struggling businesses, to the NPP’s poor governance.
He underscored the need for Ghanaians to make informed decisions securing a brighter future, particularly for the youth.
The former president urged voters to critically evaluate the nation’s state and choose leadership capable of addressing economic challenges and revitalising hope for development.
“We know their promises and what they told us. They deceived Ghanaians, so we will vote for them. After winning power, they have failed in delivering on their promises. That is why we have a duty to vote them out in the upcoming December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections, he added.
