The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is confident that it will win between 28 and 30 parliamentary seats in the Eastern Region in the coming elections.
The party currently controls 25 of the region’s 33 constituencies, but it expects to gain three to five more seats based on its track record of development projects and hard work over the years.
Justin Frimpong Kodua, the party’s General Secretary, made the statement at the party’s health walk, known as the Final Walk, in Kwahu-Abetifi.
He has urged party members to vote for Bawumia to sustain the Free SHS policy.
“We will get up early on December 7 to get to the polls; after voting, we will stand in the appropriate location to wait for the counting to begin. We have heard that the NDC intends to tamper with the ballot box, but we will not allow them to do so. We will be extremely vigilant. Not only that, but we will not cause any chaos and will go there in peace to vote.”
On his part, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency Samuel Attah Akyea urged constituents to vote in large numbers for the party’s presidential and parliamentary candidates in the elections.
He suggested that they vote massively for the NPP in order to secure the majority of seats in Parliament.
“We need a majority in parliament, and Bagbin cannot determine the majority in parliament except through you, the Eastern region, so let us put everything aside and vote for Bawumia. Let’s avoid voting skirt and blouse.
“By God’s grace, this is the first time we are getting an economist to lead us, so it’s up to you to choose Turkey over digitalisation. The Eastern region will not vote for Mahama under any circumstances; we will vote for Bawumia, for we cherish our future.”
