George Afful, General Secretary of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), says the party is still strong and will not collapse following the death of its founder and financier, Madam Akua Donkor.
According to him, the party’s founder left behind a solid structure and support system that will be used to run the party’s affairs.
He stated that the party will reorganise and prepare to run in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he stated that the death of the founder has no bearing on the party’s operations.
“Our late founder established a solid foundation for us to run the party even in her absence. She had planned so that we would still be able to function. So I will tell you right now that in the next elections, the Ghana Freedom Party will contest and implement all of the policies and initiatives that our late founder had planned for the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, he congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his impressive victory.
He stated that the party has congratulated him and considers his victory significant.
He described the election as successful, credible, free, fair, and transparent.
