December 13, 2024

Member of Parliament-elect for Ayensuano constituency Ida Adjoa Asiedu has expressed confidence that with hard work and service to her constituents, she will ensure that the seat never swings back to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She pledged to discharge her parliamentary duties in a manner that will bring growth to her constituents who trusted and voted for her to go to the ninth parliament.

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she stated that it was not an easy contest, but the people have given her the mandate, and there is no way she will disappoint them.

Ida Adjoa Asiedu emerged victorious in the Ayensuano constituency, securing 18,229 votes.

Her closest contender, Teddy Saforo Addy, polled 17,182 votes, while Abrokwa Sintim and Learnt Obiri garnered 722 and 140 votes, respectively.

Reacting to her victory, she said the people trusted in her message and gave her the nod because they know she will deliver.

”The contest was not an easy one. It was challenging, but by the grace of God, I have emerged victorious. I can assure the people that through hard work and service to the people, the seat will no longer swing to the NDC. We have captured the seat and will do our best to prevent it from going back to the NDC.”

She expressed gratitude to the people for their trust and support. I’m grateful to them. This is a victory for everyone at Ayensuano. I am confident that based on their trust in me and their endorsement, I will not disappoint them. May God richly bless them.

When asked about the main issues confronting the constituents, she mentioned poor roads and unemployment.

“The constituency’s main concerns are poor roads and unemployment.” So far, we have been constructing a tissue factory in the constituency. The factory is 70% complete. After completion, the factory can employ approximately 300 people. So that is one way to lower the unemployment rate. The poor road infrastructure is also being addressed. Thanks to President Akufo-Addo, we are working on some of the roads following the launch of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP). I also had machinery that I was using to repair some roads. These are the two major concerns we’re addressing,” she said.
