The Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) has blamed President Akufo-Addo for the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
The group says it was disenchanted and outraged by the disappointing outcome of the elections.
A statement issued by AFFA lamented that it could not believe that the party that was the toast of Ghanaians could suddenly lose the goodwill and suffer a catastrophic defeat with a paltry minority of seats.
The statement said the elections and the outcome were a revolt against the intransigence of President Akufo-Addo and not a vote against the NPP, adding that Dr. Bawumia is just a victim of circumstance, who unfortunately became the unintended casualty of the bottled anger of the voters.
The group argued that the reluctance of the president in sacking Ken Ofori-Atta was a straw that broke the camel’s back.
