The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has admonished political stakeholders and Ghanaians to accept the outcome of the 2024 general elections with humility.
He has also underscored the need for national unity and development.
In his final Christmas and New Year message to Ghanaians, Speaker Bagbin was optimistic that the country will progress irrespective of the economic challenges confronting us.
“I am happy that God has intervened in a rather very difficult elections in this country. None of us thought that this would be the outcome of the 2024 general elections. But as God will have it, it has happened. My call to every one of us is to accept the results in humility…To agree that this is how the Almighty God wants it to be and for us to reflect.
“…To think deeply into our souls and ourselves to see what went wrong and what went right for each and every one of us and also for the country and for us to come together to build a nation because without a nation we are living in silos.
“We are living in tribes. We will be divided and that will give room for hatred and as you know the devil will play its role. I think it is important for us to come together. I think it is important for us to continue to be open to each other. I think it is important for us to dialogue and to try and use peaceful means, the rule of law to resolve our differences,” he said.
