The finance minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has presented the first quarter of the 2025 budget after weeks of delay.
The outgoing minister presented the mini budget on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
He submitted before the House a 68.1 billion cedis budget to keep the government running until the incoming John Mahama government presents its substantive budget for 2025.
Presiding over the House, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, referred the document to the Budget and Finance Committees for a detailed review.
The two committees have been directed to scrutinise the figures and policies before reporting back to the House for debate and approval.
The budget is expected to take care of the salaries of public sector workers, statutory payments, critical infrastructure maintenance, and fund the government’s social intervention programs.
