Management of GCB GCB Bank has temporarily shut its Liberty House Branch in Accra due to a fire outbreak at the Katamanto market.
The bank says the decision to shut the branch is to ensure the safety of bank staff, customers, and assets.
A statement issued by the bank stated that measures have been put in place to minimise inconvenience to its valued clients.
“GCB Bank PLC wishes to inform its customers and the general public that due to the inconvenience caused by the fire earlier this morning at the Katamanto Market in the Central Business District of Accra, its Liberty House branch has been temporarily closed to the public,” the statement announced.
It asked customers to visit any of the nearby branches, such as Makola, Okaishie, Derby Avenue, Adabraka, Republic House, and High Street, for banking services.
The bank also announced that its digital platforms and branches nationwide remain accessible for seamless service.
“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the bank has also indicated that the reopening date for the Liberty House Branch will be announced in due course.
