The rest are Ahmed Ibrahim, the MP Banda, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; and Elizabeth Ofosu, Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry.

The President administered the Oath of Office, Oath of Secrecy, and Oath of Allegiance.

Following their swearing-in, they were presented with their instruments of office and signed the oath book.

President Mahama congratulated the ministers, saying there is no greater honour than serving your country, but he also emphasised that this honour carries greater responsibility.

He told them that he trusts their abilities, which is why he chose them over several other qualified candidates.

He reiterated that he will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect, and he challenged the ministers to carry out their mandates to help address the country’s numerous challenges.

Speaking on behalf of the ministers, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, extended gratitude to the president for the appointment.

He assured the president that their loyalty and allegiance are to him.

Responding to suggestions made by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for President Mahama to apologise to Ghanaians and appoint 70 minutes, he reminded him that the President made a pledge to run the leanest and most efficient government, and that was something he will deliver on.
