Ashanti Regional minister-designate Dr. Frank Amoakohene says the legacy he wants to leave behind is to seed a peaceful region.
The medical doctor told Parliament’s Appointments Committee that he would also want to leave behind a well-developed region where the residents have an improved standard of living.
He appeared before the committee on Monday, January 27, 2025.
“At the end of my tenure, I want to see or leave behind a peaceful and a well-developed region where the citizens in there have an improved standard of living. With these three issues mentioned, I am very sure it is a good legacy to leave behind for posterity.”
He further pledged to use his office to lobby for scholarships for residents who are financially handicapped but qualified to pursue higher education.
Dr. Frank Amoakohene stated that he also has in place plans to roll out training programs for residents who have an interest in learning any skilled work.
“I have a lot of responsibility to make sure that I create equal opportunities for the youth of the Ashanti region. Those who are interested in schooling and need the right financial support, I will work closely with the GETFund, the scholarship secretariat, and GNPC in order that they can have access to scholarships to continue their education.”
To those who want to learn a skill, the nominee assured them that he will use his office to lobby so they will have their fair share of the various schemes available to train Ghanaian youth.
He also promised to provide opportunities for those who want to venture into agriculture.
