President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Margaret Ansei as the acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
The appointee, who is also known as Magoo, is a distinguished public servant with extensive experience in governance and development. She is a former municipal chief executive (MCE) for Suhum in the Eastern Region.
Her appointment took effect on January 27, 2025.
She is expected to manage GEA’s efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
She will be responsible for empowering small businesses through innovative initiatives, capacity-building programs, and financial support to stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities.
The Ghana Enterprises Agency is mandated to promote and develop MSMEs, which form the backbone of Ghana’s economy.
Margaret Ansei has extensive experience in local governance and community development.
She is also required to fulfil GEA’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship and driving the growth of small businesses nationwide.
