Minister-designate for Health Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has highlighted what he terms the unique selling proposition of President John Dramani Mahama’s government for the health sector.
The nominee, in responding to a question posed by Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin, said the party promised free primary healthcare.
He said the party has also promised to introduce the Mahama Care Fund to take care of chronic diseases while adding that the NDC will make Ghana a pharmaceutical hub.
‘’Per our manifesto, we have promised free primary healthcare. We are going to ensure that primary healthcare is free. Mr. Chairman, we have also promised that we are going to establish a fund called the Maham Care Fund to take care of chronic diseases. It is our determination to make sure Ghana becomes a pharmaceutical hub.
He also conceded and admitted that the drone services, which are providing essential services to hard-to-reach areas, are fantastic, but the previous government promised not to use state funds to pay for the drones but did the opposite, promising he would investigate and get to the bottom of the matter.
He also promised to think outside the box in ensuring that the over 60,000 trained nurses without jobs get jobs to do.
