The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has informed the Ghanaian public that it will be embarking on a refurbishment of its cold room facilities as part of efforts to improve service delivery.
Due to the exercise, the hospital says it will be unable to accept fresh bodies or brought-in dead cases during the period of the refurbishment.
This restriction will, however, not affect cases originating from the hospital, the notice issued by management added.
The refurbishment is expected to be completed in six weeks.
The hospital has therefore admonished bereaved families with deceased relatives of six weeks or more with them to make arrangements for burial or transfer to alternative facilities.
It has also apologised to the public for any inconvenience caused.
