Ablekuma North Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abubakar Braimah, has maintained that although the performance of the party was not the best, it won the parliamentary election.
He said per the party’s calculations and examination of the results, they have retained the seat in Ablekuma North.
‘’The residents in Ablekumah North voted for our candidate Nana Akua Afriyie. She won the parliamentary election. Per our tabulation, we have won the elections. The constituents voted for us. We know we have won the seat and our region has done the calculations; the headquarters have also done the calculations, and we don’t know why the Electoral Commission (EC) refused to declare our candidate as the winner.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM,’With our pink sheets the EC gave to us and the calculations done of some 281 polling stations, we have won by a difference of 414 votes.
He warned that no amount of manipulations will change the results, which places the NPP as the winner of the seat.
He noted that ‘’this is the worst performance of the NPP in history, but the bottom line is that they have won the parliamentary election because the parliamentary election can be won even by a one-vote difference”.
He went on to say that the NDC’s violent incidents have prevented the EC from conducting the recollation and declaring the results.
”Everything that has prevented the EC from declaring the winner of the Ablekuma North parliamentary election comes from the NDC. They are the ones causing chaos and preventing the EC from doing its job.
