Premier League clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante, have issued a joint statement calling for immediate reforms in the league.
This joint statement follows the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter during a match between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC last week.
The two teams have proposed that the league be transferred from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to an autonomous, independent management body as soon as possible.
Furthermore, they advocate for the relocation of league matches from stadiums that fail to meet standard requirements.
In addition to these reforms, the two teams are seeking an increased percentage of TV rights.
Regarding security measures, they recommend a minimum of 100 police personnel for category A and B games, as well as the deployment of 20 soldiers for category A games.
They also suggest that security personnel should not be drawn from the locality of the match.
The teams have further demanded automatic representation on the GFA Executive Committee.
